Full Time Brewer Position

Brewer - Buffalo 9 Brewing

Buffalo 9 Brewing is looking for an experienced Brewer to run our daily brewery operations and head our brewing program.  

 

Established in 2020, Buffalo 9 Brewing started as a contract brewery serving 6 core beer across Alberta and Saskatchewan. 2024 has brought an expansion, opening a taproom located in Richmond, Calgary. (2801 24A street SW).

Buffalo 9 Brewing is inspired by Canada’s military, veteran and first responder history and presence. We thrive to keep these stories alive while offering quality craft beer in a variety of styles. 

Successful candidates will be a vital part of our taproom and will contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Oversee brewing process from milling grain to fermentation
• Cellar management and monitoring, wort transfer
• Cleaning and sanitizing of parts and equipment using corrosive chemicals
• Packaging of product into kegs and cans. 
• Equipment inspections and maintenance
• Basic Lab work - pH and ABV measurement
• Opportunity for recipe development
  
   

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Have strong command of Craft Brewing techniques and processes
• Ability to lift 25Kg grain sacks, and other equipment such as kegs and hoses.       
• Flexible working hours - possible early mornings and/or late evenings.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
• Possess a positive attitude, be punctual and reliable attendance.
• Basic computer skills - experience with brewery management software considered an asset
• Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working in potentially confined spaces, ability to work in spaces with potentially large swings in temperature, or in sustained hot or cold conditions.
• Must have your own reliable vehicle.
